The Santa Fe New Mexican has published an article addressing a coming PBS special. The special concerns a proposed New Mexico constitutional amendment to place priority on maintaining a clean environment.

State Senator Antoinette Sedillo Lopez will sponsor a New Mexico Constitution Green Amendment Resolution in the 2021 Legislature. If passed this resolution will give New Mexico voters the opportunity to decide whether or not we want the strongest protections for our pure water, clean air, a stable climate and healthy environments.  A  Green Amendment of the New Mexico Constitution would be self executing provisions added to the bill of rights section that recognize and protect the rights of all people. regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or income, including future generations, to pure water, clean air, a stable climate, and healthy environments.
