Peace Engineering Framework for Middle Rio Grande Water Scarcity Planning and Adaptation

Peace Engineering is a multidisciplinary pathway and mindset for addressing the Middle Rio Grande’s water challenges.  It applies technology, data, and science to create layered, incremental, and compounding directed change toward goals such as sustainable resiliency.  It seeks health in all policies, justice-equity-accessibility-diversity-inclusion (JEADI), and climate change sustainability.  Its purpose is to reduce violence against each other and our values that continuing the status quo will bring.

MRGWA Annual Business Meeting

The Middle Rio Grande Water Advocates will hold its annual business meeting on July 26.  The agenda includes:

1. Approval of FY24 Operating Budget

2. Approval of FY24-25 Strategic Plan

3. Election of FY24 officers

4. Election of FY24 at-large board members

Water Policy and Infrastructure Task Force - Progress and Priorities

Mike Hamman, State Engineer, Hannah Riseley-White, ISC Director, and Patrick McCarthy, Thornburg Foundation Water Policy Officer snd Water Ambassador, are updating the Legislature’s interim Water and Natural Resources Committee at 10:15 am on July 11. The WNRC meeting can be viewed via webcast at nmlegis.gov and will be recorded.  Stacy Timmons, NM Bureau of Geology, is updating legislators regarding the legislators’ water education program funded by the 2023 Legislature. We will post summaries later this month.
